When Map Magic CMO is used from within ArcView, the user must be logged in to Crash Magic in order for a diagram to be created.
Explanation
Map Magic information is being lost if the user is not logged in.
In other words, if a user uses the XY Rect or the selection tool and has not accessed Crash Magic recently, the user will be prompted to log in. After logging in, the Map Magic request no longer exists and a diagram will not be created.
If a user session exists, the diagram is created as expected.
Solution
This is a known bug, that is under investigation. The current workaround is to log into Crash Magic prior to using the Map Magic tool.
