The .master user group should never be set up with Active Directory login.

Article created: Sep 27 2007, updated: Feb 02 2009

Background:  The Crash Magic .Master user group is not designed to be used with Active Directory login. Login to the .Master user group should only be done when directed by Pd' Programming.

Status:  Intended behaviour - description
Keywords:  .master,active,directory
Categories:   *Installation and setup* *Configuration* *Article - fact*

Explanation:

The default Crash Magic behavior is to login users to the analysis section of the program. If Active Directory is set for the .master user Crash Magic will attempt to route the login to the analysis side of the program and fail. This can disable access to the .master user group in the program. This can prevent support, and upgrades to Crash Magic until this issue is resolved. Resolving this problem may require the System tables be recreated and causing a loss of user created data within Crash Magic. This would mean that users would lose any objects they had created in Crash Magic.

Solution:
Never set the .master user to use Active Directory loging.
